Default Glacier plow 2 install difficulties!

All,

I had trouble trying to mount the snow plow
frame piece on the front end. It seems that
something is not aligning up properly. I followed
the instructions step by step, and I have a
gap on both ends and the top part is too far
out for the carriage bolts to fit properly through
the front end to the top part. Here's some pics.
Can anyone post some pics of their setup of
the plow mount and its frame? Not to mention the end of
the plow frame not reaching the hole of my skid plate. When I bought
this Glacier 2 plow system 2 yrs ago for my SP450,
had no issues installing the Frame/Mount but its been awhile
and I can't remember all the details from 2 yrs ago. This is for
Sportsman 2005 and up so it should fit my 2008 SP800 per directions

Regards,

R'

On your second pic there I can see that you did not remove the bracket that attaches to the plow bracket. You do not need to use that bracket in certain applicaitons. In the instructions it tells you for certain models you need to remove that bracket and bolt the plow bracket directly. Hope that makes sense.

So you will actually use the holes you see in your last picutre to bolt onto the frame.

G.A.S -

Thanks so much for the input. I remembered using that
bracket as to why I thought I must use it in this setup.
So that is my problem.

Okay then how do you back out the stock bolts
for the front end WITHOUT having the front end
fall down (painful lesson I learned from the SP450
as I busted my RAD on that install, long story) to
put the bolts through the outside of the plow frame
into the front end. Does that make sense?

Thx,

R'

I am not so sure. My 800 touring uses that bracket, but I remember seeing in the instructions that some models did not require that bracket and you had to remove it. Sorry could not be more help.
Cheers

Oh if you were talking about the bolts for the top??? I managed to get the bolts in behind without removing anything else.

Okay cool all good to know. With my current problem, obviously now the bolts were too short b/c dawg gone
mount pushing it out about an 1inch. Now I should be able to get all installed. Still wonder about my front
end dropping down. At least with the mount I was able to put one bolt in at a time, swing the piece around
and do the other so the front wouldn't drop.

Thanks again,

R'
