Brand new Yamaha Grizzly 450
#1
The starter was turning over but then died all of a sudden. I tried to restart again, but nothing is happening, no turnover. It's brand new just got it from the dealership a few weeks ago.

Is anything else working? When you turn on the key does the display come on? Do the headlights work? Also check the kill switch because the starter will not work with the kill switch on kill.

everything else comes on, the display, the lights, just won't turn over.

Sometimes mine will not turn over in neutral or park if I don't put the brake on; don't know why, but it won't so you might try that after you check your kill switch as this is always a possibility with kids around or you may have accidentally hit it; done it myself and man was I embarrassed after walking home and getting help.

What about the kill switch?</end quote></div>
The kill switch is in the right position. I checked it this morning and after rocking the ATV back and forth it was able to try to crank again

Heres a video I made describing the problem. There's a chattering noise behind the ATV, I don't know what it is though.

Hmm .. Well I not sure why you have the throttle gunned when you try to start it,that a big no no..I wish everyone here had video of their problems though lol..It sound like your battery is just about dead, not enough power to turn it over..is it cold where you live??I'd buy one of 20.00 battery tenders,Yamaha atv batteries kinda suck in cold conditions and pretty much any conditions lol..I dont know much about the new Grizz's though, but my wolverine made that same noise when the battery was almost dead..

I think the battery may be dead actually. Forgot to mention that I bought a 2007 model brand new from the manufacturer, so somewhere in between that time frame without being started up, the battery crapped out.
The reason why I was gunning the throttle before start up was because that's what the manufacturers manual said lol. I'm new to the ATV gig, don't know much about them and will mainly use it for hunting. It's not too cold where I live so I don't think that's it. Whatever the case, I took it back to the dealership, forgot I had a warranty on it haha, thank god.
I made the video because I wanted a quicker answer before 5AM so I could go hunting but it was of no avail , it's ok though, makes next weekends adventure that much sweeter .
