I remember something about some model years having problems.

Which ones are best to avoid?

(this would be for woods trail use)

I looked at some 2002 models earlier... so they said... and I did an image search which matches far as I can see.

I just noticed though that a frame change occured at some point between the beginning and recent years.

I'm really Raptor-dumb I guess. It's not a model I've kept up with at all.

OK, so I won't even look at any 2001 models.

Any other negatives about any other years?... or any specific items to look for on a used Raptor?

What year did the big Raptor get the good fully adjustable shocks?

'08 models came with fully adjustable front shocks on the regular raptor on up. The previous year came with them on the GYTR version. I haven't had much experience with the stock set-up and how good they are. Maybe someone with an '08 or newer can chime in.

Sorry that is the correct the 01 had the tranny issues ( typo) as far as the 08's having adjutabile shocks they of come in great for the type of riding I do (mountain trails/rocks) and have no issues whatsoever!
