Default rpm's are us

hi - got a new 500 sportsman 2008 , in hi gear at 30mph
it is reving 6000 , is that correct and when does rhe rpm's
balance out ??

No thats not right, take it to the dealer you bought it from, the clutching is not right, should run 60 + once its broke in should do over 50 when new.

Is that running quickly up to 30 or just cruising? If just cruising I agree that might be a little high. I haven't checked a 500. But remember it is a CVT..the RPMs and speed don't correlate..depending on the load,acceleratin fast for instance increases the load and it could hit 6K at 30 and only be at 6500 at 60...
My 850 is at about 6900 when accelerating at wide open throttle at 40mph and it will run 75mph +
So if it is a 6k just cruising..it might be off,but if you are accelerating quick up to 30 it is probably fine.
