I may have not followed up on the thread like i should have, but did anyone ever find out the reasoning behind the hole in the front diff. of the 400 & equivelant quads???

 

I think that was the hole that was a drain for the steering column.
Correct me if I'm wrong!

 

There is no problem with the hole. Its supposed to be there. A guy that works for the company that builds the unit in question (for Polaris) replied with a great explanation.k It put away the suggestion of a problem. It would be worth your while to find the thead, its prettey informative from a knowledgable guy.
