What kind of spark plug do I need
#1
I have a yoohoo Raptor 110cc same as seen at this link. http://www.scooterdepot.us/pro...ctid=330&cat=12&page=1
I was given this atv because the starter was shot...I put a new starter on it but wanted to change the spark plug out. The plug that was in the ATV is a nanda A7c. Ive tried to get a new one at the autoparts, but no luck. Cant even cross reference it. any ideas?
Also this atv has set for several years. I managed to get it running with plug I had...I drove about 100 yrds and started to turn around and it cut off on me. Now nothing. wont crank, click, nothing.... its like its not hooked to a battery. Battery is new, and charged.
any ideas as to what the problem might be? Im in the process of checking electrical connections to see if something bumped loose.

You need a NGK C7HSA spark plug and Id gues your problems are related to a bad electrical connection or a broken ground wire. A lot of Chinese atv's use cheap connectors. You need to check each one for a good fit. If they are loose you can crimp them with a pair of pliers(gently) and get a better fit. Also check all the ground wires. The Chinese have been known to connect ALL the grounds to 1 place... OK if the wires are all connected...bad if they arent.

thanks mywifesquad....
it was electrical, although I cant tell you where the problem was, I went through all the wires and must have hit on the problem at some point. and yes, ALL the ground wires are wired together. grrrrr.
Now Im back to where I was after I put the new starter on... it cranks over and hits a time or two but wont stay running. Im feeling like its a fuel problem, it sat untouched for a few years with gas in the tank. (ive drained and put new in) ...but what I dont undy is it will turn over fine a few times, then acts like its having a hard time cranking...kinda like a battery going dead. I just bought a new battery so I'm feeling like that cant be it.
just a thought.....I bought a new battery, but can that be charged properly with the wall charger that comes with the atv?
thanks for the spark plug info....will get a new one, can never have enough of those laying around.

Your Welcome..
Id guess your carb is dirty/plugged up form the old gas being in it. Do you have a volt meter? You can check the battery volts and also the volts the charger is putting out. Id also think if the battery has 12 + volts and cranks slow you havnt found all your bad grounds.

Ive got the atv running. Rode it about an hour to test it out (with headlights on). cut atv off then back on a few times, each time it got harder to crank. ...thinking maybe its a charging problem.
How do I check the volts the charger is putting out....thats the stator, right?
thanks for all the help!

You need to use a volt meter on the battery terminals while the quad is running. Checking it before its running will tell you how many volts the battery has on its own.
