Default Winter tire pressures

I have found on both of our quads that beads are leaking this winter> Manual calls for 5 psi all the way around......inspected wheels and tires aired up to 10 psi and the beads are holding.......they don't appear to be over inflated.....any thoughts..Thanks

Sounds like the beads and rims on your tires might need cleaning. I've run 3.5 lbs in mine all winter, and they've held up fine. Of course, I check them frequently and have made small adjustments up or down depending on the temps.

Its the nature of the beast with ATV low pressure tires, every ATV I had needed air added to them every month, two ways around it is, add some Fix A Flat/slime what ever you call those cans or like I did ,I put tubes in all my tires.

More air presure will help but the ride gets rougher.

most tires are max 7 psi running pressure but most likely wouldnt hurt running at that pressure. wont ride very good on rough trails though lol.

FAAMECH:

Where are you at? I'm up in the great white north (Saskatchewan, Canada) and I too have noticed this the past two winters. We get down to minus 50 (that's where fehrneheit and celius meet and are equal on the scale by the way lol) and I have to air up to 9 or 10 psi in the winter. No harm! Helps dig in the snow anyway. Then like you said, air back down in the summer.

I did put some "tire slime" in the each tire just because as well. between that and a lil' more air when it's really cold, problem solved!
