Dumb question here (me) but WHY are the others ATVs on the ice just a few feet from yours?
Are they double, triple sure the same won't happen to them?

Glad your okay, you have more guts then me, I won't even walk out on ice let alone
ATV on it!

Regards,

R'

Could be worse, these are probably a little harder to get out than an ATV:

That is because this is one instance that the weight of the Popo did not pay off I think you checked everything you needed to. Having EFI will help out a bunch for this situation!

Reminds me of when I was a kid. I used to send my buddy out on the winter's new ice to test it. I was heavier than him, so I figured if he broke through I didn't have a chance. I don't know how many times I had to pull him out. His mother used to ask him about how stupid he was. Note: this kind of test also works for tree branches, newly constructed tree forts, quads on ice, etc. The trick is to let the other guys with their lighter quads go out on the ice first. If they break through, you don't want to go out there with the PoPo. But, if they've done all the hard work of "thin ice discovery" you should at least pull them out and make them some hot chocolate.
