Hello, newby here..I just made a trade for two polaris quads, one is a 05 trailboss 330, abd the other is a 05 sportsman 500.anyway.. Took them out for a ride, what a blast!!!untill the 500 started flashing the batt icon. got it back charged the batt. ran the obd and the volts show its not charging. Took out the ohm meter and found a wire that raised in volts as with the r.p.m.'s. i think this tells me the stator is working (went upto 19.+volts). im looking for some kind of fuse or circuit breaker but cant find one as of yet( are there any?). also put the 330's batt in it to test still not charging.just dies after running batt down. any tips , help will be greatly appreciated. I looked for broken wires , checked plug connections, tighten terminal nuts....i did a search here for not charging and looked for any thing i could, still no luck. thank you,

most likely if you have check the connections for the ecm(also the recifier which controls voltage) to make sure thier isnt any corroded areas, then chances are it might be bad(the ecm). now some modles during that year had a recall on this part so maybe if you can take the vin# of the bike to a dealer and have him check to see if it is under the recall and if it has been done. when you put the bike in the diao. mode what do you get for a voltage reading when you rev the bike up? should be high 13 volt around 3,000 rpms if it was working correctly.

 

when i put the bike in dino mode it does not raise in voltage with r.p.m.s. its @12- 11.8 vlts. it has been in for the recall, the ECM is silver, the guy i got it from said that he had it done. i wonder if they will replace it again?What are the chances of that...do you know how to test the ECM?and where to get one at a better price ?thx mike..
