Default Need some help

I've got a '96 400 xplorer that was parked about 2 years ago because of a bad coil. I put a new coil on it and still have no spark. I put the coil on and tested it with the recoil. I saw in a trouble shooting guide that the cause could possibly be "low battery voltage". I had no battery in it. Since then, I put a new battery in it and there is no power to anything. I've checked the key switch and kill switch and looked everywhere for a fuse or something and cannot find anything. I have no power to the lights, fan, starter, nothing. Please help?! thank you!!

running without a battery is baaaaad. your charging system sends about 15 volts through the electrical system. its not bad on a 12v system if there is a battery because it sucks up any excess to charge itself. on a system without a battery as a buffer the electronics are subjected to the full 15v. doesnt take long for them to fry from too many volts
