Have you checked the fuel level in the tank?

I am gonna put gas in there today and see if it quits. Also it was acting weird like not going into gear.

What exactly is blinking?

If you've got a -- where the D, N or R is supposed to be, it's because the computer has detected a problem and set an error code.

What do you mean it's not going in to gear? Do you mean the gearshift grinds or otherwise won't move, or does the gearshift appear to move to the drive position?

If it suddenly won't move in forward or in drive, and revs up like it's in neutral, chances are good that the oil pump drive chain jumped off the gears.

If that's the case, don't run the engine until you can get the oil pressure checked. The same pump that supplies the transmission with the oil pressure it needs to operate also supplies the engine. There is also a large O ring on a joint from the pump to the front cover. Those were known to fail on the early ones (like 03), but usually the owner will say the tranmission was slipping- especially in the higher gears at higher throttle.

If it's generally suggish and seems to be in 2nd gear, it may be due to the computer detecting a problem and going into limp mode.
