Default New ECM program for the 850's

Was just at my dealers and we was checking out the computer on mine and we noticed there was a new program out for the ECM and downloaded it,man it runs even stronger/smoother now.. That computer that they have for this XP is bad ****,you can see everything.. Takes all the guess work outta working on them for sure. Just wanted to share..

Is this reprogram available to 850 owners and is it a free upgrade? What does it all consist of?

All we did was punch in my vin and logged onto polaris's site and downloaded it.. Not sure what all it does but it feels smoother/stronger now.

I wonder if that fuel map was just released by Polaris or if it has been around for awhile. Has anyone else updated theirs?

I herd there was some new mapping in the works. Some are running a little lean, casuing backfires, some are running to rich when cold and fouling plugs. The rich condition they were fixing with hotter plugs, but I imagine they have had time now to get some new mapping done that may very well fix both issues.

I really think this is great news for XP owners... present and future. It shows that Polaris is doing everything they can do to get these machines as close to perfection as possible (within reason).

I'm pretty certain that my next machine is going to be an 850. By the time I buy it, many of these small issues will be worked out and a truly fine machine will indeed be a great machine!

I haven't had any problems with mine yet but I will be asking my dealer about this ASAP! Improvements on a great machine are always welcome!

Rutcutter, can you elaborate on the "stronger and smoother" ? Is it through the whole powerband or low, mid, top end and smoother how?
Did you have to pay for the upgrade? If so how much?

I have nt had alot of seat time yet as its raining here now, will be able to report more later..

I didnt have to pay a thing,my buddy is a tech here and we were just looking in the computer checking it out and notice the option to check the ECM for latest calibration and logged in and got it downloaded and installed.. The computer polaris has for this XP is serious..

HO there was even and option for timing maps and injector pulse flow etc. We didnt mess with any of that but its there!!!
