Default new atv? 400ex??

im out growing my recon
im 6ft tall 185lbs

im wanting something that will rip with the raptor 660 ( friend of mines).

should i get a 400ex? ive driven the 660 and it doesnt seem like a clutch is too hard

im wanting one probably 2002+ stock, or with either razr tires, nerf bars, any pipe, yoshi fmf etc..

i see these things every day going for 2200+ is that a good deal?

I would get a z400. Its a very moddable machine. They will keep up with the raptors all day long. The z is way better on trails than the 660. The z400 is faster stock to stock v. the 400ex. I would go with the z400(kfx400,dvx400)All day long. The dvx and kfx is the same as the z. Around two grand for one of these is a pretty fair price. Good luck!

The EX is a great machine, as is the Z. Neither will keep up with a 660 in a straight line, but you will have it all over that narrow tippy top heavy Raptor out on the trail.

The Z is a better machine than the 400EX and is quicker too. However, neither will keep up with the raptor in a race. They might out handle it, but that's all. If you like the Raptor, you can probably find one for around the same price as a Z or 400EX.

Whatever you do, stay away from the 660. It is narrow, and carries its weight high up in the frame, making it quite tipsy. What Yamaha was thinking when they designed this turkey, I have no idea.......
