When u try to start it the motor jut churns a little bit and never turns over... when it first happened the engine was a little warm and i was able to catch it in gear now thats its been sitting i cant catch the gear or use the electric starter.. fan and lights work fine - is it maybe the starter?

 

Looking at your previous posts on the same issue, it seems that the problem is that the starter turns but the engine does not. Am I correct? If so, you need to change the starter clutch.

 

Yea thats right i have a recording of the noise that someone else wanted to hear if u would like to. Is the starter clutch expensive? And are they hard to change?

 

I'm not familiar with your specific engine, but usually the starter clutch is easy to change. It sits in between the starter motor output shaft and another shaft that turns the engine. It is usually accessible under an outside engine cover. You may want to look at it first before going out and buying one. It may just need cleaning up and some oil.

There is a cap and under it is a little gear that touches the starter and goes into the engine is the gear the starter clutch? Do u know where to get the parts. Thank you for the help
