Default New thermistor and still have problem!!

My fan was running all the time unless i disconnected the battery. The speedo screen never flashed hot or check engine, only problem was fan running. So i bought a thermistor from napa that several on here have used. The fan still runs and now the screen is flashing hot and check engine. Now im out 50 bucks cause i had to cut the wires on the new one to put the polaris connector on it. What do i do now? Seems i just can win with this quad, im always having electrical problems.

i'll bet your ecm is junk. happened to a few guys bikes. check to make sure yours wasnt one of the recall bikes. if so it will be fixed for you free. have the dealer run the vin# to find out.

Can you buy an ecm online, what do they cost? I cant get on to the polaris parts site. It would be easyeir to hack in to the f****** fbi data base.

Is there a way you can type your vin number in online and see if your eligable for a recall?

dont think so but when 94harley worked at the dealership he put a few thru to check for people. dont know if old polaris tech does that or not or if harley still has a way. i know that cpaer had to replace i think 2 ecm's. maybe on his 3rd one for the same bike. just a thought. maybe you can ask him on the other post that harley did.

My '06 500 X2 is in the shop for the second time with the same symptoms that put it in the first time. The dealer had it 3 months the first time before they decided it was the Sure Power unit. I wonder how long it will take them this time. Best of all, when they had it the first time, the replaced the Sure Power unit and the one they replaced it with was bad. Polaris, I am told, does not have a recall for the Sure Power unit on the X2 models........

Well 94harley ran my vin and i was still eligable, So i called my dealer and they are hooking me up with a new ecm. So now i figured i would put the stock thermistor back in so they couldnt see the other one and blame me. The stock one ohmed within its opperating specs. I put the old one back in and just for the heck of it id see what happened. I just touch the battery cable and the fan went on, o well. So i firgured id hook the battery up and see if the lights ctill flash and tryed it. Now it all of a sudden work like normal no fan no hot light. Im confused how its fixed all of a sudden but , im still gonna have them put a new ecm in it.
