Got the naw ECM

Default Got the naw ECM

well put the new ecm in and its charging.... rev it up and hold it at 3000 rpms 14.4 , 14.5, 14.8 15. on the diog mode then let off the gas, it stays at 14.5 range at idle 880 rpm. now what the****! it is over charging? what would cause this.? HELP!!!

i wouldnt think it would be a problem. as long at the battery is there then it will act like a buffer to protect the electronics.
your battery could be holding that 14.5v after you let off the gas. let it idle with the lights running and handwarmers if you have them. let it run like that for a little while (5 minutes or so) you should see a drop in voltage

i just tryed it with the lights and a diff batt, it drops down to 13.5 turn lights off and idles at 14.0 wont this cook the batt? short out then fri the ecm again?that would suck.

ok,ok i think im good. im such a ... i did a search and found that just above idle, it should be 14-14+ vlts.im there man! i think? thanks for your help & puttin up with me.

curby your fine at that voltage. most will run up to 15 volts and around 13.5 is on the lower scale when all is charged. start running 16 + for a while then i would be worried.
