Default New Razor 170

I am thinking about buying the new youth razor for my boys. Does anyone have any knowledge about them? How fast do they go?

I've had two of them, one burned in a storage shed fire, and I've been pleased with them. I think it goes about 12 mph. I have a four year old granddaughter riding it now and it's perfect for her. I bought it for an eight year old and it was fun for him. I did have to replace the batteries in the second one. It will run for longer than the hour they say it will on a battery charge. It has an automatic type charger and you can just plug it up when you're through riding and it'll be ready for next time. Just like the china quads the brake can be hard for a young child to operate but they can learn to pull back with their body, not just hand strength. It's rated for 120 lbs. My granddaughter weighs 40 so it will get her up all the hills around the house.

I think EdKatt is talking about the RZR that has a 170cc 4-stroke engine. There isn't much information on Polaris' website.

I haven't seen any yet on the trails up here in New England. I've seen a couple at the dealership and a full size out on the trails once. Anybody got any info for Ed?

We too have looked at the Rzr 170.

The dealer here wants $3995.00 for the one they have in the showroom. I personally think it is a little too pricey for what you are getting.

It will get up and move for its size, and is rated to support 300lbs.

The cab is kinda tight, so if you are planning on riding with your children, I hope you are short! The seats do move forward and back a few inches, but thats about it.

I was not impressed by the lack of a chain guard on the drive train. They did get smart an put a chain tensioner on it though, so that is nice.

All in all, I would not get this as a first for a child but for an experienced young rider, it will work better that those Chinese ones out there.

Negotiate and get them down to no more than $3400.00 if you are still interested. Also, please let us know what you think of it if you do get it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I think I should go test drive it. If I fit! I want it for the kids and wife. As long as she fits I'm good. And if she feels that it has enough power.
