Picked up a used trx250 for my son rode a few times and the timing chain came off. My suspision is that the chain is stretched and guides worn is the cause as the tensioner seems to be ok (maxxed out) can I change the chain without spliting the cases and also can any one reccomend a place I can get parts reasonable checked some websites and 100 bucks seem steep for a timing chain for this thanx chris

i take it you mean a trx250x. i bought my timing chain from dennis kirk for 49 bucks. new guides i think are like 20 and 25 from dgy.com
no you don't need to split the cases, clutch side cover needs to come off and the head needs to come off to replace the front guide.
