I am thinking of putting a twist throttle on my 300 fourtrax 4x4. could i just put this on or whould i have to mess with the carb? also say if i want to put an after market muffler on it would i have to jet it or could i just throw on the muffler. the main reason i would put this on would be for sound and looks. also what are other modifications that are fairly cheap that are worth having?

 

There are twist throttles on the market that work with ATV's.

If you did a muffler that is significantly more free flowing than stock, you would want to rejet.

If you ride on public lands, I'd encourage you not to go with one that's crazy loud... There's enough people out there wanting to close down off road vehicle trails, and they don't need any help.

well there is no public trails in nj so pretty much every where you ride is illegal unless you have permission so i wouldnt want anything that loud.

 

as for twist throttle you will have to take the carb slide out of the top of carb the cable is inside it.some quads you can remove it without removing carb from quad.not sure on yours.as for slip on exhaust fmf q series i think is what your looking for.not sure if they make it for yours but check around very quiet but sounds way better than stock and their pricey.i had one on my warrior and loved it... also i dont think jetting is required for q series
