Mix it 40-1 and should be ok. Pump will still work even if pump wheel all the way down, but enough for idle speeds. If fully operational pump measures about 50-1 ratio. If pump still in good condition,JUST get a new cable. Usually when cable breaks throttle is squirrely and erratic, sometimes dangerous, you are depending on only the carb slide spring, needs oil pump spring pressure on the split cable system, although some have blocked off pump and have run single cables.

thanks. yeah im looking at getting a new cable. i have repaired cables before not sure if the length would be an issue. kinda new to atvs but very knowledgable with small engine and outboard repairs. i just acquired this atv thru a trade. it does not want to idle very well since cable broke. i rebuilt the carb and noticed the cable not attached but looks to have plenty of length for a repair. Any thoughts or should i just purchase the 100$ cable?
