i am confused, what year 250r's had the light in the plastic and what ones are on the handlebars? I am lookin for one and unless i can see a picture i don't now if the light is on the bars or not. I wan't one in the plastic the handlebar mounted ones are to 250x lookin.

 

The 86-87 had the headlight on the bars, the 88-89 in the nose-piece.
The advantage of light on the bars, it's always pointing where your wheels are pointed.
A lot of people don't run a headlight (check the pros machines), they simply put an 86-87 nose-piece on their 88-89.
To really have some "night lights," use the 86-87 style headlight with some lazer-stars mounted on your bumper.

 

Or you can run both 86-87 on the bars,and run 88-89s on the hood,but you need to have the stator rewound.
