Default Need a quiet exhaust for 400ex

So the riding season is coming up and to ride on the state trails in New Hampshire I need a quieter exhaust, I think the sound level is 96 db. I have an FMF Powercore on right now and got pulled over last year because of it. Do any of you have experience with the Q series from FMF or any other pipe you would recommend. I could always go back to stock but that's the last thing I want to do.

I think FMF makes a quiet core that will go into your powercore exhaust to quieten it down. I'd try that. I wouldn't go back to stock for nothing.

yea fmf has a quiet core for your pipe. if your in the need of a new silencer the lexx slip on is pretty sweet. not to loud at all. should work with your fmf headpipe, unless you just have a slip on then itd slide right on 4 sure. the quietcore is nice also tho

hmf with quiet core. its nice. run it on my foreman450, its no louder than stock but has a diffirent tone. its so quiet that when i plow driveways in the early mornings i have to ring the doorbell in order to get paid....so quiet it doesnt wake anyone up! cant complain about that

Yes the Q series is what I was told about. I looked them up though and they are definitely on the expensive side. Sounds like the quiet core insert might be my best bet, or at least worth a try.

How much HP can you gain with an aftermarket exhaust on a 400EX?

Not sure of the numbers but you can definitely feel a difference. I've also got the carbs jetted so if i go back to stock ill have to rejet those too.
