Default going to drag race my 2005 predator

ive never dragged this machine andi have limited seat time on it. any suggestions on techniques? i have alot of friends iwth modded 400 ex's they think they are the ****, should my stock pred be able to take them? im gonna put a k&n air cleaner in, if i take off the air box will i want to rejett? thx for any info or suggestions. my pred is brand new leftover still under warranty so i cant really do any mods.

Removing the air box, replacing with an aluminum box like UM racing's box with no lid, rejetting, and piping it will grant you with considerably more power than stock. The air intake on a stock preddy is extremely restrictive and, imo, the most ridiculous set up I have ever seen on an atv! At any rate, if you modify the intake or exhaust you will have to re-jet. I would recommend a jet kit like dyna jet. It replaces the stock needle with a better one and has many sizes of jets, more than you should ever need.

There are too many variables to say you will beat the 400ex, ie their mods, rider error, etc. But, your top speed is one of the best of any atv (stock) sold. Just race and have a beer when it's over!
