What type of handguards has everyone tried on their Raptors. I have a set of Renthal bars and found the Answer Bark Busters would not fit. I am leaning towards the Acerbis guards. Anyone have pictures or part numbers for these hand guards ?

I was looking at handguards as well. I think the only thing available are the universal style Acerbis XC (?) guards. Maier and UFO make some too. I was going to go Maier since they were about $20 less. The new ACERBIS flag guards were what I wanted, but they weretnt available for the raptor.

Lucey, Go to geocities.com/raptorterry and go through the pictures and you'll see my 909 handgaurds they are mx bike hand gaurds and they work good although on the front brake side the lever hangs out past the handgaurd because bike levers arent as long, but your hand is still protected. I wouldnt go with bar end handgaurs because I have heard of people braking there wrist when crashing because there hand gets stuck between the bars and the gaurd.

I think that the plastic guards (like the ones I described) aren't as dangerous in that respect since the plastic won't stay bent like the Aluminum. However, it will bend easier.

I have a set of Cycra Pro-Bend aluminum guards with their blue Enduro plastic brush shields installed on my Tag handlebars. They work great for XC riding...

I have the Acerbis Pro-Rally, I really like them. They offer great protection and are very stylish(You can get spoilers). They also have Bark busters embedded in the plastic. However, as xtreme165 said, if you did slip your arm between them and the handlebars there could be problems. I have the black guards with white spoilers(currently) and they look sweet on my atv. Sorry no pics and they are a little more expensive.

AlaskaTRX...how would you compare the handling of your Raptor to the 250r you previously had? Thanks.

Stock vs. Stock, I would have to say that the Raptor has more power everywhere than a 250R. Handling-wise the two are very comparable. The Raptor does have a higher CG and weaker brakes, though (nothing has better brakes stock than a Honda 250R). To me, the 660R has better ergonomics and more complete fit and finish than the old 250R (it better, though, because this is 12 years later!). I bought the Raptor to race, so we will see how good it gets with aftermarket shocks and engine mods...

I have the UFO handguards, they fit like a glove, and don't require any lever trimming. They are a little pricey at $50 bucks, but they look pretty cool, and went on in about 20 minutes.

One Quick Note, they factory bars don't accept the mounting hardware very well without a little added material (duck tape). But I think if you had aftermarket bars, they would fit fine without that.
