Yamaha has gone mad

I was thinking about a aftermarket front bumper for my Raptor. Most of them were in the 60-90 dollar range. But i figured that id check on the GYT bumper that Yamaha makes. To my dismay they want $134 for this thing! I figured it would be a little higher but d*mn.And what about the price of those oil filters

I believe Yamaha has a reputation for their parts being overpriced. The best example I can think of is; rumor has it that the brakes from a Honda 300 will fit a Yamaha 350 big bear and are half the price. I've never tried this, but someone told me about this one time.

Go to advance auto and they can match your filter up for $6.00 what did you say the cost of the stock filter was? If this is true I can honestly say I may be getting rid of my raptor if parts are that expensive and I may get an R or a 400ex which is cheap as dirt to fix I can replace all the plastic and seat on a 400ex for under $200 at my price, fortunatly I havent had to buy anything for my raptor yet (stock factory yamaha parts) but if that filter is $145 thats F'ing crazy and Yamaha should go F them selves if that is true! Let me know what that price was I wanna know because honestly if that filter is that much my raptor is gone just to tell Yamaha to go fly a kite and my brand new yz250 will be out the door also. Plus there will be numerous calls/letters to them telling them there crazy for that kind of pricing I know yz parts arent much I dont understand why the raptor parts would be that much. Let us know how much the filter was! I know the stock radials are like $150-170 which is crazy you can get the stock honda radials for $50 each so why are the radials from the raptor 3x as much?

Bash, Thats good I was getting P!$$ed off first thing this morning untill I noticed that he is from SA. Man I was ready to sell my Raptor and get a R which I would have if they still made them but I refuse to pay big $$$ for a 10-15year old quad 10 bucks is high for filter but not enough to make me sell it hehe go to advance they can match filters up and there the same for $5-$6.

Garyc660R, I changed my oil after 1 ride as I do with all my new machines because of shavings and etc.. plus your quad will shift better I honestly change my oil at least 1time per month depending on riding in winter/mud/water I change it after every other ride as I do with my bike. This is important expecially on a 4stroke for engine life plus I get my oil at 10% of dealer cost so its not to hard on the wallet I change the filter 1 time per month. No it doesnt smoke. The stock clutch is junk and mine is shot so I ordered a barnett carbon fiber because I dont want yamaha putting in the same stock junk, but I am going to let them know that my clutch is gone. The magazines are wrong about clutch they said it was bullet proof this clutch is the biggest piece of garbage ever as is the banshee's I have owned at least 30 bikes/quads and this clutch has been the worst ever the pull is nice but it heats up and fades quickly and now its slipping. So getting back to the topic keep that oil changed frequently expecially if you ride alot of streams/mud/water as I do where I practice/ride if you just ride easy basic trails there is no need to change it as often as I do. Your quad shouldnt be smoking what color is the smoke?
