A friend of mine is going with me to Hatfield McCoy and he is going to be riding my TB. He weighs around 230 and I`m 185. Is he too heavy for the amount power or should I ride it and let him ride my Scram? My main cocern is it running out of power on the hills.

I know what a lot of you will say "tell him to get his own machine" but his is doing all the plumbing for the bathroom addition I`m doing for nothing so I think I`m getting the better end of deal even if I do have to ride the TB. Which I won`t mine too much since I don`t have any time on this machine myself.

He can ride well we used to ride together all the time but he sold his to buy a boat.

Thanks Guys!!!

I have a 00 Trailboss and ride trails and creeks mostly. I am 6'3"/230 and have no problem keeping up with the scrambler 400 4x4 that rides with us. On the trails that is. Of course in the open, he walks off. We dont shoot many hills, but he would have fun riding that machine, I certainly do.

I'm 5'8" 205lbs and don't have a problem keeping in with 400's on the trails.

OK I see that he will be fine like I said I don`t have any trail time on it myself so I was just a little unsure knowing it`s a 250 in a quad that weighs 460 lbs already. Thanks

EasterEgg,

Jeez, what a light weight. I can remember when I weighed (just) 230lbs. Actually, my G/F and I are well into the 200 lb range each and both of us (on the quad) had no trouble going up over even the nastiest hills. It's not the motor that makes it work so well with that load, it's the transmission. Don't worry, be happy!

EasterEgg,

Think of more weight as more traction. I ride with a friend who tips the scales in at 275. He is a very large man. When he gets into a low traction situation, he plants is butt on the back end of his 00 trailblazer and lets her dig. I have been surprized at what he can make it throught. very fun to watch him.

Best I can tell I weigh more than any weight posted above and after a year plus riding my Trail Blazer I was yet to find anything that would stop me on it. So to answer your question, load that sucker up it can take it and ask for more.
