I just bought a 87 trx 350 4x4. I changed the battery and turned the key, i hit the start button and i heard a "pop". Then no electric! I check all fuses even the main they are all good. I put on the jumper cables and my electric is back! I hit the start button again and hear the same "pop". I can kick start it with no problem. but i am losing the electric when i hit the start button.
I need help!!1

 

sounds like you need a stater solenoid

 

If you hear the solenoid clicking when depressing the start button, try tapping on the starter. If it spins the brushes are bad and need replacement.
Try avoiding jump starting these units with a ca battery. Too many amps are bad for the starter brushes and armeture.
