help with carb.bogging??

Question help with carb.bogging??

Hello All...I just bought an old 1994 Trail boss 250.(It's a project for me and my son)We replaced the drive belt and the driving clutch.clean the carb,installed new NGK plug.And now its very hard to start sometimes it want even start.when its running it boggs real bad at take off.If I pull the choke It takes right off.Are my carb. settings off or am I doing something wrong?Thanks for any help in this matter

what is your compression? i have a 92 trailboss and had pretty much the same problem. i rebuilt the engine and it starts right up, runs great, and no bogging anymore. good luck.

to me it sounds like your carb is off , when you get it running just pull the plug after a good ride and check if your lean (white plug) or rich(black plug) and then go from there . Now on idle to about 1/4 throtle it is your a/f screw and pilot jet , a good mixture of air and fuel your plug should be a brownish.
