Default battery for 07 sportsman 700

I need a battery for my 700. The original one finally gave up ! ! Any suggestions on brand? I was just going to go to my local advance auto or auto zone and pick up a standard one...

Thats what I do. Even the cheapo $35 Walmart Everstarts last 3 years for me on sleds, lawn tractors and ATVs.

Seems short to only get 2 yrs out of your battery. Would think 3 or 4.

I would suggest Yuasa, preferably their maintenance free VRLA's. Once you determine the correct battery model # for your ride, you can search the Internet for best price. Some local dealers also carry Yuasa too, just a little more money.

Assuming u have a '07 Sportsman, the battery would be a YIX30L. $111 from these guys: http://www.powersportsuperstore.com/.../tr58-1138.htm

Expensive battery since it's a big one. Sorry.

PS. I would also suggest picking up a battery tender if you don't ride weekly, year-round. They'll extend the life of the battery. You can find them for < $50 - Yuasa or Battery Tender.

PSS. Double check the model number. I just did a quick look.

I got an NGT Extreme from Carquest that was an AGM style battery. Had way more power then the stock. Engine cranked over much easier and not an issue running lights hand warmers and winch at the same time......

Default Battery

Go with a good one, preferably gel and use a battery tender. I live in Northern MN so I ride in warm Summers(mudding) and freezing cold Winters(plowing). Always used a battery tender when not riding and my battery(stock) in my 05 800 was still going strong when I sold it earlier this year.

Default thanks

I think my problem is that I do not ride the machine enough... I have a very busy schedule and was only able to ride about 6 times last year, not including the 3 times out plowing.. I am hoping to do more riding this year, although we now have a little guy 6 months old... hmmmm gonna be tough... :-)

I think I will just pick up a cheapo and use a battery tender.

If you go with a cheapo just make sure it has the same or better specs as the stock one or you will be sorry.....
