scrambler cough

I have a 00 scrambler 500 and when i hit the gas hard or take it up to the top end it has a cough to it and will cut in and out any help?

I would try two things. Check the air filter. And try using an octane booster to clean it out. I like using nitro power. You can it for about 10 bucks abottle. It worked for me.

have you done any clutching or tire mods? sounds like either the rev limiter is kicking in or the carb is slightly out of adjustment.
what about your valves...when was the last time they were serviced?
