Default New Grizzly 550 -- Are exposed wires on brake lever normal?

Hello,

I just picked up a new Grizzly 550 EPS last night. It was dark when I loaded the ATV into my truck so I didn't get to look everything over as well as I might have wanted.

Anyway, it runs great but when I unloaded it into my garage I noticed that there are exposed wires on both brake levers. I tried to take a picture here:

Is this normal? It looks ... delicate. There is a similar connection to the other brake lever. Doesn't look particularly waterproof, and it does look prone to snagging on stuff and ripping off. It almost looks as though there should be a cover over this entire thing, including the spring. Am I just being paranoid?

Thanks!

As you can see from the pics of mine, it is normal.

Great -- Thanks Jim!

Yours look quite a bit tidier than mine. I'll zip-tie the wires to the bars to keep them from snagging on stuff.

Thanks for the reply,
Sam

My 700 is the same way and I have wondered the same thing. Am thinking about wrapping mine up and tying them up so that nothing can snag them. But then again I wonder if that would make them hold moisture and short out?

I am pretty well sure the Yamaha engineers have looked at this and found it to be acceptable. It does not really concern me.
