Default Should I take this deal on a 2001 Aluma trailer??

I am shopping for a trailer for my 2007 800 x2

I found a nice 2001 Aluma model#548 4.5'x8' aluminum trailer on craigslist. He wanted $1000 originally but will take $700

It has a 2000#gvwr and a torsion axle. New they go for about $1400

I like the lightweight alum. as storage space is an issue, and I may be pushing it around the yard.

What do you guys think.
Anybody have a aluma trailer??
Thanks

Price seems pretty high to me for an 8 yr old single place.

I have always had aluminum 10' double open bed sled trailers over the years. But last year I bought a 2001 Chilton aluminum enclosed 10' double for $1100. Needed new tail-lights that's it. Oh, and the enclosure had a baseball sized dent in the one side, oh well.

So..... $700 for a tiny 2001 model 4.5x8'...... rip off.

id take it. if i hadthe cash. i paid $100 for my 4x8. but i had to put new tires, bearings, seals, new ply wood bed, mn reg. so far iv spent round $400 on it. so for an alum trailer, and 500lb more hauling cap. id do it.

These days you don't get much trailer for $1000. So an all aluminum for 700, no matter what year, is pretty good as long as the tires are good and the lights work.

Sounds pretty fair to me. Trailers are up there in price now a days, Just make sure that u go over every square inch of it...look for stress cracks in the welds and such. Plus if when u show up in person with cash in hand might even be able to get it for 600-650

It could be that your used 450 dollar trailer is not as well made as the other one . Both trailers could be worth the money you can't say his is not worth the 250 more until you compare the two and all there options . I paid $1100 for my aluminum trailer .

Aluma makes a nice trailer. Ditto on some of the other threads to go through every square inch of it. If it's in great shape the price sounds about right for what I've seen around. They hold their value pretty well. If you want to go cheaper think about a steel 5x8. I have one and can move it by hand with ease and it gets a lot of use around the yard and toy hauling. Plus it is easier, and cheaper, to repair if needed. Either way, try craigslist or your local paper too as I have seen a lot of stuff going for cheap with the economy in the crapper. My buddy just got an awesome deal on a one year old enclosed trailer from a guy that needed some quick cash.
