Will a piped Raptor run with a piped Banshee up OLDS hill?
#1
I have yet to take mine to the big Sand Capitol of the world yet and I was just curious to know if a properly tuned piped Raptor would run with a piped Banshee up Olds hill. Anybody know? Please no bashing. I'm just curious.

A properyl tuned Raptor may run with a piped Shee, but it would be close.I wouldnt put money on either machine because it could go either way.I have a 99 piped Banshee and a Raptor that is piped and is tuned pretty good. When i race the 2 on the street it is back and forth.Raptor has a 1mph edge on top end, but it has a 14 tooth front also. But that is on the street, i dont know how they would act with paddles on them.Neither will walk away from the other im sure of that.

One thing you have to remember in the sand is that you want as much wheel spin as possible. On hard pack dirt you want the tires to hook up as soon as possible, with as little wheel spin as possible. Banshees's are notorios for causing excessive wheel spin on hard pack, but in sand it works to their benefit.

A piped Banshee can pull 4th gear up Olds hill, my piped Raptor(BG) can only pull 3rd, the Banshee wins by 4-5 bike lengths. The pipe on the Raptor just doesn't add the kind of top end power a pipe on a Banshee does. It's a 2-stroke thing, but the Raptor is still a blast to ride in the sand
