Yamaha Banshee with the Toomey filter setup with no airbox at all, if you ride in wet conditions, like puddles on the trails pretty often, will it work fine or does it suck in water?

Also how much more airflow do you get over a airbox without a lid? Is it worth it?

Because I know how to make my box so I can run it without a lid without spending a cent, so what should I do?

thanks

I've splashed mine pretty good and haven't even come close to getting water in the motor. The outerwear keeps the water out quite well. As far as air flow goes I noticed a huge boost in throttle response with the 2:1 filter. It's worth the money just knowing the filter always fits right [unlike the factory setup]. When I took the air box off of mine I also found there was a lot of space between the rails so I made a tool box from an ammo box and now I have storage space for tools and a tow strap and it looks like the factory airbox.
