Few Quick questions on raptor 660
#1
1. i own an 04 Raptor 660 and i am trying to get rid of the excessive amount of junk found on the clutch perch. i already eliminated the parking brake but i was wondering if i could some how get rid of the sensors as well so that i could simply replace the lever with a motorcycle one.
2. whats involved when changing the axle bearings? i have the parts and going to attempt tomorrow or Thursday however i have never done so.
i had another but i cant remember at the moment but any help would be appreciated

If it's just a gounded contact sensor then all you have to do is cut the leads and tie them together. Have you looked at a book that has the wiring in it? May hit a yamaha shop up and ask them for a wiring diag copy. If it's an open lead just tape the wires up so they don't touch each other. The bearings aren't too hard. Takes some skill but anyone whit some good tools and mid level mechanic skills can do it. The hardest part is tearing it down to do it. I havn't done a '04 but looking at a parts breakdone it's the same as mine. Remove the axle, remove the rear carrier( I like this way, lets me look at it and clean it good, plus I like to stand when working on parts that I need to hit, but can do with it on the bike if so wanted.) Remove the seals and use a driver and knock the bearing out from the backside. Use a bearing driver(can rent at autozone or buy $15) and press bearing in, then seal.
