300ex good gear ratio

Default 300ex good gear ratio

I've got a 300ex and i want to put a high to mid range gear ratio because i top out really quick and i want to go faster.i was think about a 14:39 is that any good

I'd go 14:38 since the 38 is probably what is on there now. You can get a 14 front for about $10 new.

Remember, that 1 tooth in front equals around 3 teeth in back. The little 300 isn't exactly a torque monster to begin with, so don't overdoo it.

For me, I will give away top end speed in order to get low end power, any time!

if you want to hold gears longer, get a 1000+ rpm cdi. my gears come super slow now and it will eat other short geared quads.
