Default bike wont idol, bounces off rev limiter. help!

i need some help and im out of ideas! i have this honda xl125s enduro dirtbike that i just cant get running. i cleaned the carb and just put a complete rebuild kit in it, but when i start the bike it revs so high it bounces off the rev limiter. the only way i can control t is with the choke. adjusting the pilot jet dose nothing for the idol problem. no intake leak ether.

any help would be great!

You are running lean! Sounds like a classic case of a clogged pilot jet, or a leak in the intake or air filter. You did the carb, but did you actually replace the pilot or thoroughly clean it? That isn't the rev limiter you are bouncing off, it is just dying on you.

no i replaced the pilot, replaced the main, replaced the needle. entire rebuild kit. i was hopping this would fix the rev problem. no intake leak ether, did a vacume test. the only way i can halfway controle the rev speed is with the choke. more choke=lower speed but still about 4000rpm then it dies. less pilot= wont start at all, more pilot= slightly higher rpm.

the rebuild kit did nothing, before i did that i chem-dipped the whole carb. i dont know whats going on. but keep the ideas comeing!

This may be a dumb suggestion but do you have and kinks in the throttle cable anywhere. I had an old 81 IT465 that did the same thing. It ended up being a pinched throttle cable, it would get stuck at the pinch point and no matter how hard I closed the throttle by the hand control it would not stop revving. The cable was getting stuck in the tube that it slides through,

Is the throttle slide in right ..?.. The pin in the carb body is in the slot in the throttle slide ..
