Default Cut off after riding

So I was out riding this past Sat and after a while, my bike cut off. I was slowing down to go over a tree and when I was almost completely stopped, it cut off. Then it wouldn't re-fire. I decided to let it sit for a few and try to start it again but no luck. After about ten minutes it finally re-started but it was sputterin a little. I held the throttle open a little at first to keep it running and rode it back and pulled it in the truck. I haven't checked it yet but I'm thinking it may be too rich at idle and the plug is fouling so I'm going to check that later. That or my fuel filter is clogging up. I put an in-line atv filter in it a while back because I was having a hard time with trash getting in the carb. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what might have caused this?

Which ATV do you have? I've had a problem with my '05 Rubicon dying while riding when I let off the throttle, doesn't happen often and always starts right back up and runs fine, but it is annoying.

It's a 2000 recon. It hasn't happened before other than when I first got it (used) and the idle jet was almost completely clogged. I cleaned up the carb and it hasn't done it since until now. I can't imagine the jet is plugged again because I have the fuel filter in place and I always cut the fuel off and run the carb dry when storing it.

Nobody has any suggestions? I pulled the plug and it was dark but no moisture on it. Also, the plug is less than 6 months old.
