my buddy needs help in deciding which atv to get. I told him his best bet is with the mojave judging just from the specs.

ive got both and like them both, the mojave is a better sport bike , a lot faster than the lakota. but the lakota is more versitile or a better allround machine and simpler to service. depends on if your hunting, trailridding, racing ,exploring....seewhatimsayin

yes ,only because i bought them ,repair them,put gas in them, maintain them,& haul them .
i do have 4 children and a wife that help me ride them.
the xr-80 was my kids 1st dirt bike they only had it a few weeks before it got lifted

It depends on what he wants to do. The Lakota is more suited to a beginner while the Mojave is aimed at a sport rider. Both machines are the same size but the Lakota weighs 70lbs more than a Mojave. If he plans on doing any performance riding go with a Mojave, if he wants to cruise more sedately than choose the Lakota.
