Default new 550 Grizzly suspension question.

Hi folks,

I find my 09/550 Grizzly rides (Squats) too low when I have my wife two up on it.
The rear suspension is now set at the factory settings but would I get any extra ground clearance by re-adjusting the rear shocks?

Thanks

Jim

Yes most ATV have 4 or 5 five preload setting on the rear shocks, and the factory usually set them on the softest setting. Go one notch at a time and try it out because the stiffest setting is like someone welded all the pivot points on the IRS. Don't, known about Yamaha but usually the tool to adjust it is in your tool bag with the ATV.

If not take the back wheels off and use a pipe wrench or large channel locks to turn the collar on the shocks.

Maybe it's your Grizz's way of telling you it's not a good idea to ride 2-up on a one place quad.

Yup, you can call me a dick. Ride safely.

Riding 2 isn't cool unless you are always on flat ground and are not going crazy. I wouldn't recommend it under any circumstances though.
