Default 500 sportsman exhaust

Ive got an 07 500 and put a pure polaris slip on for an 800 on it. Just wondering if I need to adjust the fuel mixture so it's not running too lean and overheat the the engine, this curiosity came from an article ive been reading in a magazine. The bike runs great but I want to keep it that way and don't want to prematurally ruin any rings or the piston. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanx in advance to all.

You should be OK. They run pretty rich stock. I ran a K&N with a Aaen pipe on my 05 800 and a bunch of people tried saying it wouldn't run right and cause probs. Pulled the plugs after a short time and no lean issues. Had almost 2K miles on it when I sold it and no issues.

If you still don't feel comfortable buy a programmer off ebay. Probably around $200 for a good one.

Have you checked your plug? if the color is good and it's not back firing Id run it. I think if there was a problem one of those two things would show up right away.
Right on with being rich. Mine is a carbureted unit and it's always rich.
