Question Big Bear 350 4 wheel drive problems

One of my buddies has a 1998 Big Bear 350. We think 4 wheel drive is gone. When sitting on the bike (going up a steep hill or very marshy terrain) the front right wheel spins & so does the rear left wheel. It seems like the other 2 wheels will not kick in at all. Is 4 wheel drive gone & what in the bike would cause this? Thanx

I'm not an expert on Big Bears but I would say that the 4 wheel drive motor is gone. or in other words, the front diff is dead. that's what I would say.

The right rear wheel hub is stiripped. The bike has a solid rear axle so the only way one wheel isn't pulling is because that hub is stripped. The front diff in not locked together so one wheel can turn when the other isn't. You just don't notice it until one rear isn't working.

If the hub is stripped, with the bike in the air and no matter what wheel u turn the others also turn, would that happen??

Take the hub off the rear wheel not turning, the one wheel drive on the front is just how limited slip front ends work,no problem there.

Mach1motorsports.com

it will get you a lot cheaper parts! I buy all my stuff off of them.
