I am shopping for a set of sand tires/rims for my stock Raptor, and the April Dirt Wheels mag has an ad for the ITP Magnum wheels, and I REALLY like the look they have. They are 12 x 7 with 23/1050-12 tires on the rear. But, my concern is: will these be too much tire for my bike? I am planning to drop the front sprocket to a 12 tooth soon. Will the 23" tires and this gearing still be a bit too tall to pull good? I was planning on buying the 20x11x10 Sand Sharks.
Thanks for the advise.

I have a 400EX with 22 inch sand tires and I was getting waxed by 300 in the drags and climbing dunes, I could not keep up the speed I entered the dune with. I also had nerf bars that the tires would clear by one inch at a stop. When I would be at top speed, the tires grow like dragster tires and hit my nerf bars. Now I have a big cut in the middle of every paddle. Think hard before you buy 23" tires.
