Well, you guys would be proud, Sold my grizzly, gonna buy...err...sportsman. Here is the deal. My fiance wants a yellow sportsman for herself, we have a friend who has a 2000 left over he bought last august. Has 200 miles on it and is in mint cond. he only wants 4800$. Or should we spend the extra 1000 on a new HO? Is there really a big difference? I read that the new HO's dont have the same low end power but have a better top end?
Thanks for the help, and I will be getting the KAW 650 when it comes in!!!

I've heard that the HO doesn't have the same bottom as the 500, but I weigh close to 270 lbs, and have never been beaten off the line, or on top by any stock Sportsman.

If you can get a 2001 for $5800, you better jump. If you were paying close to list price for the HO, I'd say that maybe it isn't worth the price diff. But at that price, get the HO.

i dont think u could get a HO for $5800. i think the dealer cost is like $5750.i cant imagine a dealer making such a small profit and still being in bussines.

i think a HO would cost more like $6300-6500

The HO also has, better brakes, better steering and free lifetime belt replacements(I believe). The brand new HO in our riding group humiliates the rest of us, with our SP500's, all the way from start to the end of the race... Ride'em hard Polcat

After much time and research in considering a new quad, I went with the HO. The power is noticably different, the steering is better, the brakes are better and bike seemed to be much improved over the 2000. Ride them both and find out for yourself, get what you want the first time around so that you are not wishing you would have stepped up to the plate and done it right to begin with.

By the way if you are going from a grizz to the sportsman, any thing would be a step in the right direction. I had a 1998, what a piece.....

All I can say is that my wife LOVES her Yellow Sportsman HO. She rode the Rubicon when we were test riding and said it was too hard to steer. I would suggest you get her on both of them and let her decide... you will both be much happier if you let her pick.
