I know this is an ATV board, but I thought I would tell everyone the bad news. Dale Sr has died today in accident at the 500. My Prayers are with the family! Very sad day for Nascar and all the fans.

 

I just seen it on the news. I couldn't believe it. It is a sad day for the racing world.

well it wasn't like dale never touched an atv. i forgot what brand he was for. might have been polaris. really bad day in the racing family

 

Never liked the man, but a trendous tradgedy nonetheless. Look at the bright side: he died doing what he loved to do, and at a place he loved to do it. Hope the Good Lord makes me so forunate when he calls me home.

Prayers for his family and friends and all his fans.

 

i was just thinking of posting the same topic!! it is a sad day indeed! imagine his son looking in the mirror and seeing this!! during the pre-race he was on the tv a lot with terry bradshaw and they showed him with his family! one guy was right...he died doing what he loved!! his son was doing well and i do believe that he owned the car that won!! he is truely a hero to all of racing and motorsports!

EARNHART OWNS WALTRIPS CAR AND HIS SONS CAR ALSO, WHICH FINISHED 1 AND 2 IN THE RACE. hE WAS BLOCKING FOR THEM AND THAT IS WHAT CAUSED THE CRASH. IT WAS A HORRBLE SEEN.

 

His blocking did not cause the crash. It was an accident that could have happened to anyone. If I read most of the reports correctly, and from what I saw on tv, it was caused by the air current that the new spoilers they were allowed to use this year created. It was such a tragic event, especially to his son and family. My heart goes out to them. Lord be with them.
