Hey Guys I just recently put a K&N filter kit and air filter on my Wolverine, which really helped with the torque and horsepower. I then put a MegaMax II pipe on it. However, it seem to be a bit sluggish now...I assume I will need to make some carb adjustments...I know many of you have put these same componets on your Wolverine..any suggestions and hints would help to get it running better. Also should I tune it with the pipe discs on or not, does this affect the performance?

I did the same thing on my wolverine, I would buy the Dynojet kit if I was you...it's relatively inexpensive (under $50) and really helped mellow things out and get the bike running good...I can't remember exactly what size jet I used, but it was one of the ones that came in the kit. If you need me to look I can....good luck!

Oops I meant to include that I have already put a K&N Jet kit on it. I was told that I would probably need to adjust my carb settings.

Howdy shoey...need more info to give you a hand with your jetting....where is it sluggish ?....idle?...midrange?...top end?...the stock jetting on the wolverine is 135...on mine with basically all the same mods I had to go up to 140 on the main jet..also had to turn the air screw out to two turns...stock setting is one and a half...hope that helps somewhat...

Hey Bushbunny thanks for the help I need it.
My wolverine seems to be sluggish midrange and a little on top end. I cut some extra air holes in the filter box so that it could breath a little more. But to be honest I am not to keen on jetting the carb..after putting in the jet kit I just adjusted the main jet by 2&1/2 turns as instructed in the jetkit manual. I probably do need to tweek the other jets but I not for sure much or which ones...help would be appreciated. Do think I should take it the local dealer and let them adjust the valves too....
How much better response did you get after the pipe and jetkit install?

Howdy shoey...for a start don't be so scared about jetting a carb...theres nothing in there thats going to bite you...what you need to try is...find the needle jet and move it down one notch...that means you move the little clip up one notch...the needle jet is the one that looks like a needle....your main jet is in the float bowl and it's the big brass one in the center....once you remove the float bowl turn the carb over and you will see the main jet...on the main jet there are two ways you can go...both can cause the sluggish problem...either your to lean or too rich...this is where you have to read the plug for the color...do you know how to do the test for checking plug color?...try lowering the needle jet first and test drive...I noticed alot of difference once I got it all dialed in...it took me a few tries to get the jetting just right but it was well worth the trouble of taking the carb off a couple of times..what size main jet were you running before you installed the kit?...hope that helps...let me know..

With a Big Gun exhaust and K+N filter and jet-kit:

147.5 main jet
K+N needle, clip in middle(make sure it sits flat)
fuel screw 2(cold weather) 1.5(warmer weather)
before making any other changes than these warm that bugger up real good also try an autolite spark plug that crosses with the one in your quad.
Good Luck --
let me know how it works !!!!

This might kind of sound silly but when I bought the K&N filter and jet kit. There was a sticker from DynoJet in there. I just figured that is the type of jets that were used.

When I installed the kit I put the clip on the 3rd notch, which I believe was what was recommended for my elevation...so from what you are saying it to move the clip down another notch right? How do I check the plug to see if it is running too lean.

howdy shoey...the first thing you have to do is find out at what throttle position it acts up before making and carb adjustments...test drive it first and get back to me...
