I know several companies make a conversion kit for this. Who has the best kit? Cheapest, best design?

BTW
The best way I found to get the rivets out is to take an air chisel to them. Popped the heads right off!

I got mine from Rick Ritter last week and could not be happier with it. Excellent quality, and what a difference the ride is with no slop in the steering.
Since I had about one month left on my original warranty, I took my bike to my dealer for a warranty steering job. Found out that even though the 2001 models come with a better design lower steering bushing, it is not interchangeable with the 2000 models. They were going to put another plastic bushing in and I said "I don't think so". I called up to Ritters place and he overnighted one to me, and my dealer installed it. My dealer charged me and extra $20 cuz they had to hone out the brass approx 3 thousanths, so the steering column would fit. Even my dealer and his parts department commented on how nice my replacement part was.

I got mine form HPD, great quality. I only have 40 mile on it, so far so good. There is some work getting the shaft to fit the bushing and it's a little tight drilling out the bolt holes but well worth the effort.

Super happy with my HPD on my 500. Im a machinist by trade, and this part is of high quality. I will by another for my 335 when it goes. I did not have to "open up" my HPD to fit my steering column. Drilling the 1\4 holes is the hardest part of the install. I finally used my small air drill and a short "screw machine" length drill bit. Sure like the steering now!
It's nice to know that Polaris adressed this problem by re-designing the steering system and not just a quick fix. The H.O. steering is much better than my non HO. Good job staying on top of these things Polaris.
