Question KFX400/Z400 Parking Brake Question (Block off plate?)

Hi all,

I posted my question in the Suzuki forum, but I thought I'd get input from the Kawasaki guys too. I have a 2004 Suzuki Z400 and I recently attempted to adjust my parking brake. I say attempted because I was turning the adjustment bolt as I have in the past, but this time the bolt suddenly snaps off. I didn't feel that I was over turning it, but appearently I did. After dissassembling the parking brake housing to find out which parts I need to replace, I came to find out that half of the bolt was stuck inside of the adjustment slide. I've tried for hours to get the remaining bolt half out (using heat, easy-outs, handsaws, etc.), but have had no success. I am now looking to purchase the adjustment slide that goes inside the parking brake housing (and which the adjustment bolt threads into), or possibly just buy a block off plate.

Now, on to my question. Has anyone used a parking brake block off plate and would they recommend it? Or, has anyone installed a block off plate and would like to sell the adjustment slide from inside their old parking brake housing?

Thanks for any input and feel free to ask questions...

just toss the block off plate on the parking brake is a constant pain in the *** it will end up getting hung up and chewing up your brake pads you can get the brake block off plate for like 10.00 then just get rid of all that p brake crap!
