I ride mx and want to get into woods racing. I can't decide on which to get. What do you think about each, which would be better in both coditions. I think Banshee is better for mx, but 400 is better for woods. Is the banshee good in woods racing. tell me what you think?

I think they would probally be about the same on a regular MX track, though in woods MX I would think that the 400ex would be better? Banshees are pretty narly in the woods...

You are probably better off with the 400EX for both of those conditions. However if either of those has alot of straight-aways then the Banshee would probably be good. But usually MX and woods racing are short on straight-aways. The EX is also more reliable than the shee. Depends what u're lookin for...

Two equal riders go on each machine the 400ex will win, so what im saying is the 400ex for mx and woods, if they arent = riders it will be close but the 400ex is better handling.

I just purchased a 2001 Banshee about 3 weeks ago.And it just so happens I got to race a 400 ex. We were racing on trails that we were both familiar with and he seemed like an alright rider. The trails consisted of long and short straight aways, real tight turns, and some pretty sick hill climbs and to tell you the truth he wasnt even close enough to smell what kind of oil i mix with my gas. Go with the banshee dude, you wont be unsatisfied, promise.......

I brought my shee in the woods once.... the woods won... I walked home... at least for me I had a hard time riding it in the woods cuz it had almost no low end power you had to be right on the powerband or it would bog, that means some mega shifting up and down and up and down just to keep the rpm's up, needless to say keeping the shee in the powerband in the woods... I dunno.... I definetly think the 400ex would be 100% better in the woods.

I think the Banshee would be better the than the 400ex. If you get the wright pipe piston combantion and get longer a arms it would smoke the 400ex in the woods with know prob. The pipe I would get is Toomey pipe, Vitos Super stock piston, K&N air filter, cool head, with 20 cc domes and the wright tire set up would do real good at mx race's. But that is your chose what four wheeler you want Thanks Dustin

99 Banshee Toomey pipe Vito's Super Stock piston's
Vito's 4 dagree timing key cool Head 21cc 18cc Domes and Digatron six pack rack Bandites all a round Trinity 2 into 1 carb kit 36mm carb

95 Banshee all stock

Banshees are way harder to ride than a 400ex, but they are all around faster bikes. I am an amatuer racers and have won races against seasoned pros on there 400ex, but then again I have also lost some. The banshee is obviously cheaper to get more power out of but the 400ex requires less maintenace. I had an awsome race with a pro MX racer on his modded 400ex who raced some XC (which is where we were) We played cat and mouse for about 20km of the first lap and then I finally had to just let him go and stop for a pit (racing to hard and my arms were numb from exhaustion). The power difference is phenominal between the 2 bikes and anyone who has ever rode both can tell you that the 400ex doesnt come close to the banshee for all out power. Either way you chose, it all really comes down to rider ability. If you can ride the Banshee at 60% but the EX at 100% then the EX is a better bike for you, But if you can ride the Banshee at 80% then I would choose it.

Go with the 400, as for you airbanshee01 the only way youd beat a 400 with a equal rider would be if it didnt have any tires

i just traded my 400ex for a banshee. my 400ex would smoke my banshee in the woods. but, i would not trade the adrenaline rush i get from my banshee for nothing. the banshee is perfect for what its built for >>>>(SPEED).
