Default 2008 Honda Foreman 4x4 engine knock - need a pro

Hello,

I have a 2008 Foreman 4x4 Power Steering foot shift model. Recently the engine has started knocking from what sounds to be the piston (jug). It is way more than the normal lifter tapping and only seems to get better in the higher rpms. This bike has 85 hours and has never seen mud or water - just light trail riding. I changed the oil and plug and it starts up and runs fine with no smoking (white or black). Has anybody experienced this? I am willing to try anything before I take it to the dealer.

Thanks,

Aaron

If it is under warranty, or close, I'd take it to the dealer. Even if it is past warranty, Honda might cover parts if it is something serious.

Sometimes a cam chain tensioner can make a bunch of racket. Hopefully it is something simple like that.

If it wasn't abused they can phone Honda and get an ok for warranty ..
